Samsung had just released a wireless gaming controller called GamePad which can easily turn your smartphone or tablet into full blown gaming console.
The GamePad has a telescoping cradle that mounts 4 to 6.3 -inch devices sideways and connects devices via Bluetooth 3.0, so physically you just need to clip or secure your devices in the controller.
The GamePad will be compatible with Bluetooth 3.0 for controller-enabled mobile games on the Android operating system (version 4.1 and above, optimized for 4.3+.)
And you can expect that Sammy built this device for its range of Galaxy devices, such us the Note III, Note II, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3. But since it’s a separate product, it’ll support range of other devices with compatible interfaces and mobile Android OSs.
The new gaming controller will feature an eight-way D-pad, two analog joysticks, four action buttons, two trigger buttons, a select button and a start button. These controls are generic with those already in the market, but GamePad sports a “Play” button which will launch an App in the device or download it when you press it when both devices are in sync.
Here are GamePad’s supported games and there are reported 35 titles made for this controller:
- Need for Speed Most Wanted
- Asphalt8: Airborne
- Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour
- Virtua Tennis Challenge
- Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame
As a console gamer, the paired GamePad and mobile devices almost mimic the setup when you connect your mobile device directly to your HDTV via an HDMI cable, wirelessly via AllShare screen mirroring — or through Samsung’s “Smart Dock” which still the GamePad do the controls while the game is feed through the larger screen.
