It was an unforgettable season of rare Apple techs which incredibly sold for $700,000 to collect a Steve Jobs’ prototype Apple-1 and $35,000 for a sealed original iPhone. Another sealed original iPhone is projected to sell for 50x the original retail or more in a fresh auction that is presently underway.

In another bizarre auction event, a rare Apple-1 manual sold for $42,000 was recently confirmed to be a reproduction rather than an original, causing the lucky bidder to get a refund.
Apple-1 enthusiast Armin Hierstetter began a meticulous attempt to recreate the Apple-1 instructions from scratch. Armin realized after his thorough evaluations and analyzing all of the small details that an Apple-1 manual that was sold for $42,000 was a forgery.
Armin’s finding was verified after contacting the auction company. The reputable firm stated:
“We agree with your findings that this is a replica. We were unaware of the replicas made in the 1980s. Thank you for educating us. We reached out to the winning bidder and offered him a full refund. He’s asked to purchase the replica for a few thousand dollars because he enjoys it. We will be refunding the balance. ”
So in the meantime, check out those in your old closet or dig your time capsules, you might be one of these lucky auctioneers who’ve turned their old Apple techs into gold through time.
