Urbanista has just unveiled officially a pair of solar-powered true wireless earbuds called the Phoenix. The firm had already introduced a solar-powered over-ear headphones last year. These two headphones are equipped with Exeger’s Powerfoyle solar panels to charge its built-in batteries and extend its usage.
The over-ear headphones features the solar-panels integrated in its headband, however, for the Phoenix, the solar panels are not built into its wireless earbuds but instead into its charging case. It’s a no brainer, considering the small size of the earbuds. Technically, you’re looking at 8 hours playback for the buds alone coupled with the case for 32 hours playback, but you can extend these output further for additional hour per an hour of direct sunlight charging. Somehow, will come handy for outdoor usage or on emergency times with power outage. Accordingly, the charging status of the Phoenix can be tracked from Urbanista’s companion app, which also offers the option of adjusting the earbuds EQ, or customizing its touch controls configurations.
Other Urbanista Phoenix features:
- Active noise cancellation with transparency mode
- IPX4 water resistance
- Support for Bluetooth 5.2
- USB-C charging port
- Can connect multiple devices simultaneously
- Color: black and pink
Like the Phoenix from its mythical portrayal, associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. Unfortunately, you’ll need to wait for it to rise from the ashes till the end of this year for its official release with a burning price tag of $149 (£129, €149) globally.
