If you’ve been following Apple’s announcements, recently the company scheduled an event for Tuesday, September 15 which could have unveiled the lines of new iPhones. Apparently, it’s not and instead, it’s for the latest versions of Apple Watch and iPad. The leaked promotional email for the iPhone 12 5G lately confirmed the delays(most likely due to COVID-19) and suggests a late October launch.
The report from PhoneArena through a leaker named Evan Blass, the leaked promotional email seems to have been created as a placeholder by one of the partnering launch carriers. Whether the carrier in question is US-based or not remains unclear. Notably, the mentions of “all-new iPhone 12 and experience 5G” is perfectly aligned to concurrent reports of standard 5G support for the iPhone 12 lineups.
The leaked promo email also mentions October 20th, Tuesday as the end of the pre-orders date, historically it is not the usual day for Apple. Normally, the iPhone pre-orders on Friday and ends it on Thursday. If we will layout the timeline, Apple’s iPhone 12 event could take place on Tuesday, October 13, with pre-orders following on Friday, October 16 and October 23 for the budget-friendly version. Another consideration could be an official announcement in September and released in the following months which what they did in iPhone X and iPhone XR.
