Coach Guitar App Review

Coach Guitar

Back in school, almost all of my friends knew how to play the guitar. They knew how to play the latest songs, and more often than not, girls would be singing along with them. I was really envious, because back then I was one of those unfortunate ones who does not know how to sing, and worse, does not even play the guitar. I wish I had Coach Guitar back then.

Coach Guitar is an awesome free app available for iOS devices that does one thing and does it well: it teaches you how to play the guitar. It uses a no-nonsense visual teaching concept that stays away with music theory and guitar tabs. Instead, the app features video lessons with animated fretboard synchronized to the videos. From the app developers’ site, key features of the app are:

  • No music theory involved

  • Capability to let you learn popular songs easily

  • HD video lessons

  • Animated, color-coded fretboard

  • Step-by-step tutorials approved by professionals

  • Tutorial for both left and right-handed learners

  • Accompanying track with voice

  • Chords and structure diagram

Coach Guitar

Using the app for a few days now, I can attest to Coach Guitar’s effectivity. Although I am still a bad guitar player, at least now I can get to strum to a few songs with the help of the app. Its intuitive and easy-to-understand interface provides the essentials to learn guitar basics. Included for free when you download the app are guitar lessons for Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven and Green Day’s Wake Me Up When September Ends. An  E-shop icon is included to allow you to easily purchase more guitar lessons. As of now, songs by AC/DC, Bob Marley, the Beatles and Guns N’ Roses are available on their marketplace.

Compatible with the full range of Apple devices including the latest iPads and iPhones, you may download your copy from
