If you enjoy the great outdoors, then you must be very familiar with the headache that comes along bringing your gear in places where they could be submerged underwater, dropped a few meters high, or bumped into rock hard surfaces. Good thing though that Sony has these concerns covered, at least when it comes to your imaging needs. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Sony HDR-GWP88.
This latest Handycam from Sony is an engineering marvel built for adventure and thrill-seekers in mind. Waterproof, dustproof, shockproof and freezeproof, the slim and lightweight Sony HDR-GWP88 is perfect for capturing all your holiday adventures. The 29.8mm wide-angle Sony G lens, handy self-record button and built-in projector make it perfect for shooting and sharing memories instantly, while the 20.4MP Exmor R CMOS Sensor of the Handycam, which is twice as sensitive as the competition, lets you capture every detail of your subject, even in low-light conditions.
The Sony HDR-GWP88 also packs an Optical SteadyShot or Active Mode which helps you take clear and shake-free shots even while on the go. And, do not ever forget about the built-in projector, which enables you to instantly view videos taken minutes ago wherever and whenever you please, transf0rming your Handycam into a mobile theater. Do note, however, that the effective distance the HDR-GWP88 can handle is between 1.6feet to 6feet.
The Handycam also features 10x Optical Zoom and 17x Extended Zoom, which we feel is the company’s terminology for digital zoom. Nevertheless, this feature will most definitely be beneficial when taking panoramic landscape shots during your trips. As expected from a top-of-the-line camera such as this, the HDR-GWP88 has a built-in GPS for tagging and organizing videos and pictures. It also boasts of Sony’s latest TRILUMINOS color technology, which helps make richer and more vivid footages.
