We’re not getting too excited here! But even the new iPhone has not been yet revealed officially, analyst Horace Dediu of Asymco let out of its fearless forecast that the iPhone 5, new iPhone or whatever moniker it’ll be called, for its lifespan the next iPhone could reach 250-million sales.
According to Apple’s marketing head, Phil Schiller, the company is guided by simple principle when looking into sales. “Each new generation sold approximately equal to all previous generations combined.”
In a analysis brought by PhoneArena, the approach seemed true for the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and the current iPhone 4S which is already halfway through.
– For the iPhone 3G, it beat the original with nearly four times more sales.
– The iPhone 3GS beat the original and iPhone 3G combined with a factor of 1.6.
– The iPhone 4 also sold more than the three earlier models combined.
– The iPhone 4S is still young and already sold half of what the first four models did, but it’d continue selling for quite a while so the prospecst are there.
The new iPhone is already building its hype for rumored September 12th release, and earlier thiw week iOS 6 beta for developer reveals major details such the 9-pin dock connector and larger screen based from the simulation of its resolution in a development tools to fit five rows of icons on its homescreen –thinking that it’s a overhauled design from iPhone 4S, easy to say it could sell like hotcakes.
