The Touch & Go System in the All-new Toyota Yaris

Last year before the IAA/Frankfurt Auto Show, Harman have announced that it has developed the Toyota Touch & Go and Toyota Touch & Go Plus multimedia systems to be fitted on several European Toyota models vehicles including the all new Yaris. The Touch & Go system boasts highly integrable design for in-car convenience and mobile accessibility while on the go.

The base multimedia system will include “AM/FM radio, a CD/MP3 player, Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity, a USB port for the connection of portable music players, a trip information screen and a rear view camera.”

Accordingly, the existing touchscreen-based panel on the dashboard can be upgraded to a full satellite navigation system which features advanced traffic coverage, customizable speed limits and safety camera warnings, as well as access to a range of downloadable connected information services. It’ll also offers drivers the luxury of getting the shortest route to their destination that is interestingly aimed to be a eco-friendly route as it minimize the emissions and fuel consumption.

The Touch & Go system also added a mobile connectivity that will enables the owner’s phone book to be used as a source of addresses to set as destinations asides from that the destinations may be input remotely from home or office, and Points of Interest may be downloaded for entry as destinations through Google Maps.

In addition, Harman have done a pretty good job on its Toyota Touch & Go Plus which showcase added features like text-to-speech with SMS messaging support through Touch & Go (messages can be safely read aloud to the driver, and replies can be sent using customizable templates) and 3D city views, advanced voice recognition, integrated email and calendar options, and a “play more like this” music function.
