LaCie have just outed a miniature version of its rugged portable drive called the Rugged Mini which the company claims much smaller(obviously) and stronger than its older version. It boast 40 percent portability in terms of size, rain-resistant and crush-proof up to one ton of pressure.
The Rugged Mini also features USB 3.0(though downgrade compatible with USB 2.0) and new bigger capacity with 500GB and 1TB models. LaCie Private-Public software is also packed in the storage device which protects data from unauthorized access with AES data encryption. LaCie Mini is also compatible with Macs or PCs, with the new normal capacity the drive also includes 10GB of Wuala online storage for those want to back up their data to the cloud. Users also can select drive speeds from 5,400rpm and 7,200rpm.
