99.7% of the Total Population doesn’t own a Tablet by end of 2010

With all the bru-ha-ha around the prominent tablets nowadays, you may be thinking that this market is quite large for the companies to invest so much in it. Not according to this report from Business Insider. As illustrated in the chart above, this said market comprises only 0.3% of the total population. According to RBC Analyst Mike Abramsky, the tablet market is quite small with respect to the others like Internet users and PC users among others. He also tells in the 88-page report that by 2014, Android devices will overtake Apple ones as he believes that Google’s Android will eventually take 40% of the market with Apple following at 34%, Microsoft at 13%, BlackBerry at 8%, and HP WebOS at 5%. Companies need not to worry though as the tablet users will eventually increase as Abramsky predicts 400 million tablet users buying 185 million units by 2014.
