After the announcement of Honeycomb in this year’s CES, the rumor mill once again spins with the upgrade to Gingerbread. The guys at Pocket-lint reported that an alleged source from ViewSonic is saying that the ViewPad 4 is to be launched in April and will come with Android 2.4 bundled. Although some had suspected that the OS upgrade will have the moniker “Ice Cream”, it would still be called Gingerbread. So what changes are to be expected in the supposed upgrade? For one, there will be compatibility for dual-core apps designed for Honeycomb. Pocket-lint speculates that this is probably one reason as to why there’s still not much Gingerbread devices in the market. Expect more as information surfaces.
