Google notebook with Chrome OS to be launched this fall?

And by fall we mean sometime… now. This rumor goes along side the news that Google is launching it’s Chrome OS on the same period. Add to that is a report by Taiwan-based IT news site Digitimes saying that the first notebooks running on the Chrome OS will be released sometime this month. According to the same source, Google will use the strategy it employed with its Nexus One smartphone with the launch of the notebook supposedly manufactured by Inventec. This means that it won’t be available in retail and only around 60,000 to 70,000 units will be sold.

Other pieces of this rumor include HP and Acer which are supposedly to launch gadgets manufactured by Quanta and will include the Chrome OS by December. As with other rumors, please take these with a grain of salt.
