Apple has just announced that the iTunes U service has topped 300 million downloads in the three years of its existence. The free 350,000 audio and video files iTunes U downloadable contents makes the record together with participating universities that include MIT, Harvard, Columbia, and many more. There are over 800 universities distributing their content privately or publicly, however, notable claims of more than half of them is sharing their content publicly, and that really make sense at all.
“iTunes U makes it easy for people to discover and learn with content from many of the world’s top institutions,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of Internet Services. “With such a wide selection of educational material, we’re providing iTunes users with an incredible way to learn on their computer, iPhone, iPod or iPad.”
