AMD Phenom II and Athlon II affordable ranges unveiled

AMD announced several new processors intended to replete the mainstream market ranging from its Phenom II and Athlon II processors. There are five new CPUs announced which interestingly affordable for its same class processors.

The AMD Phenom II X4 910e, a quadcore chip running at 2.6GHz comes along with AMD Phenom II X2 555 with the same 65W TDP to 95W. In the Athlon ranges there are three new entries, AMD Athlon II X2 255, which runs at 3.1GHz with a 65W TDP, along with X3 440 and X4 635.

All are Socket AM3 compatible and come in at under $170 a-piece when bought in 1,000 unit quantities. In fact three of the new processors come in less than $100 a unit.
