Aligning with the high-level Core-i7 series will be the mid-range Core-i5 in the coming months and the lower end Core-i3 with possible early next year entry. The Lynnfield chipsets will be either Cores i5 or i7 depending on its feature set, but definitely Clarkfield chipset will be for i7 and Arrandale a 32nm series will fall under Core i3’s.
With these new entries of moniker the all-we-know brands like Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, and Centrino will be in transitions of fading, and times runs-out for Celeron, Pentium, and Atom names which make the cut.
I wonder now Intel’s octal-core high-end server processor will be named as Core-i8? Gang-up for more details with my specified read link.
