Following the very successful footstep of Apple App Store, Research in Motion Ltd.(RIM), the maker of BlackBerry phones, launched its one-stop shop for add-on applications –the BlackBerry App World. The App World will be available for download at RIM’s website, and said to have a thousand applications to wet your appetite including AIM, FaceBook, Brain Challenge 2 and the very cool Shazam.

The BlackBerry App World will share revenue with cell phone carriers, unlike to Apple’s App Store. This will enable the carriers to set up their own store with the App World –like if they want to let customers to charge application purchases to their cell phone bill.

To get access to the BlackBerry App World you need to first download BlackBerry App World App and you need a PayPal account for making purchases.
