Samsung’s Blue Earth is designed to look like a “well rounded pebble”, said Samsung, made with safety recycled plastic to stick with the eco-theme. The phone boast an eco-mode for efficiently adjusting screen brightness, backlight duration and Bluetooth usage, built-in pedometer to tell you how much CO2 emission you’ve saved by walking instead of driving and energy-efficiency of 30milliwatts in stand-by mode. In its back is the solar panel, where it can charge your phone so you can speak anytime under the sun.
In other hand, LG don’t give much details on their solar-phone in which showing a version of KF750 Secret with installed solar panels at the back case. Taking to their design is they hope to come up with a commercial phone that able to talk for 3 minutes with just 10 minutes of solar charging.
Looking into what these new design of eco-friendly phones it still have some flaws, but to think of the idea of saving the earth this manufacturers should have an eco-award for giving an eco touch on their device that somehow promotes environment awareness to their consumers.
