First Global manufacturer Motorola hits the trigger to layoffs 6 percent of employees from its global operations of about 3,000 to 4,000 coming from it handset division. This to remain standing from fourth quarter earnings estimate of a 7 to 8 cent per share loss.
Now another three industry giants are looking to cuts their operating costs, Google just laid off 100 recruiters while announcing the closure of a few satellite engineering offices. Meanwhile Seagate is swinging the axe deep with an announced 6% cut or about 2,950 people to its global workforce coupled with executive pay cuts by as much as 25%. And Microsoft is still looking to some other cost saving ways and weighing everything to avoid layoffs.
Where just in almost start of first quarter, so we should be ready enough to face this global crisis, let’s just hope for the best. We can expect more, but maybe not for best. Let’s just keep on praying and start right to improve everything.
