Google has just announced that Android Pay is set to be launched in the UK in the upcoming months. The payment service will support MasterCard and Visa credit/debit cards.
Bank of Scotland; First Direct; Halifax; HSBC; Lloyds Bank; M&S Bank; MBNA and Nationwide Building Society are the banks according to Google that will initially support Android Pay. Most of these banks are have also adapted Apple Pay when it debuts in the region. Other banks will be added later on.
Android Pay promises contact-less payments for most supported retailers, including transport for London. The service will also ease checkout in many Android apps.
