Logitech’s Powershell Controller and Battery
has just been unveiled to support iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and fifth-generation iPod Touch running iOS 7 giving it a slip on case that is capable of single full charge (1500mAh), extra protection and ultimately game-loving external controls.
As a game controller, it has the basics of what you would find on portable gaming devices with a directional pad(left), four face buttons(right) and two shoulder buttons. As a case, you can comfortably access the camera, earphone jack and power button.
Last June, Apple revealed the specs for game controllers interface for iOS 7 which will enable developers to utilize both Lightning port-connected and Bluetooth models. Currently, there are around 300 games offer controller support in Apple’s iTunes Store with notable games such as Lego Lord of the Rings, Bastion, Limbo and Galaxy on Fire 2. We think these external controls are great for long play from the added battery life and ease of use especially for a little bit technical or RPG type games.
