iPad 2S, iPad3 or iPad Hd? These are the rumored names for the new generation iPad which will be released this year. What surprised us is that Apple does not name the new generation iPad with any of those rumored names. They just gave a simple name to the new device, the ‘New iPad’. Simple but packed with good and improved features. But still, some other rumors on its features still got its way to the New iPad.
Retina Display
On this feature, the rumors got it right as this one is the most anticipated feature of all. The New iPad comes with Retina Display. It has a 9.7-inch screen which is the home to 3.1 million pixels in a 2048 x 1536 resolution which is equal to 264ppi. As a new version of iPad, it also has improved color saturation as compared to its predecessor.
A5X processor
The new model has Apple A5X ARM-based unit which has an improved GPU – a quad-core graphics and runs in a dual-core based unit. Apple claimed it as twice as fast as Tegra 3.
Camera
As compared to other technologies out there in the market, the New iPad does not come with an 8MP camera. It only has a 5 megapixels camera just like iPhone 4S and a VGA front facing camera but it does have a backside illuminated sensor with a five element lens and is capable of capturing a 1080p video.
Connectivity
One of the most stimulating features of the New iPad is its connectivity feature – the LTE. Apple’s New iPad is boasting a 21Mbps HSPA+, 42Mbps DC-HSDPA and an LTE Radio which clocks in at 73Mbps for both Verizon and AT&T networks.
Battery
In order to cater the HD Screen and LTE Radio, Apple’s New iPad comes with a bigger battery which in return will be affecting the overall look of the device. This means that a bulkier case of the device has been used which will probably result to a slightly increased weight of 1.4lbs and 9.4mm thick. Apple claimed that at a regular device usage, the battery can last up to 10 hours while 9 hours battery life when using 4G.
