Kickstarter have recently kicking some Apple products with the iKeyboard and iPhly projects. So how OhGizmo told us how this iPhly project works as an alternative much cheaper RC remote control for aficionados, “designed for RC enthusiasts, the iPhly replaces those incredibly expensive controllers with a considerably cheaper and far more compact housing that attaches to your iPhone and interfaces with it through the headphone/mic port. So instead of flying an RC plane via a couple of sticks, you can take advantage of the iPhone’s built-in gyroscope to pitch, roll and even throttle up by swiping across the display. ” Check out the video preview after the break.
Now if you already owned an iPhone, the retail price of $99.99 for this controller seemed to be reasonable and much cheaper from the normal RC remote, not to mention that the iPhly app, which of course is available for free from the iTunes App Store. All you need now, is to swap your existing Futaba-style frequency module from your old controller, you don’t have to worry, most of the popular brands have already been tested to ensure they work with the iPhly.
