When we featured the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Collector’s Edition box and what inside that entertainment square, we assumed that this new expansion will break records, yet it didn’t disappoint. Looking at the new installment of Gran Turismo franchise and Call of Duty: Black Ops, this PC games sells like hot cakes upon release and even breaks records. So how Cataclysm manages to breaks records on its own?
Blizzard Entertainment claims the “latest installment/expansion for the World of Warcraft series managed to sell 3.3 million copies in its first 24 hours of being on sale. That means that it broke the record for fastest selling PC game, ever.“
On its own Cataclysm, beat Wrath of the Lich King which sold 2.8 million copies in its first 24 hours of being on sale, back in 2008.
