The “Pad” part alone in the “PalmPad” name reveals pretty much what this is all about. In an analyst call made by Todd Bradley, HP’s head for their Personal System Group, he said that they have sent 200 of its employees to work at Palm (which was bought by HP this year) and mentioned that HP will have “a webOS-powered PalmPad that will be set for release early in 2011.” This, together with their filing of a trademark for the aforementioned name last July solidifies HP’s entrance in the ever-expanding tablet wars.
